Evangelism at Work

For sometime now, I have been reading this book by Mark Greene (Thank God its Monday) which talks about ministry in the work place. It is quite shocking to know that we spend almost one-third of our lives at work. It therefore means the people we work with have somewhat become part of us.
I guess when Jesus said love thy neighbour as thyself - he was also referring to our managers, our colleagues, the security man as well as the cleaner who cleans our desk before we arrive in the morning. Unfortunately, Christians are missing out on these opportunities and have become inclined to "traditional" methods of evangelism such as distributing flyers to strangers on the street. I believe until we realise that our "fussy" manager and our temperamental colleagues are our neighbours, we would continue to lose sight of perhaps one of the greatest commandments of all time.

To evangelise at work requires some wisdom, the bible says wisdom is profitable to direct. So, it’s all about being on your guard and waiting for the right time to come. Your colleagues or superiors expedient premise for rebuffing the good new might be more than a million, but God has a way of making them open up discussions that will be an avenue for you to shine for him and being alert at those times requires special anointing.

Its is not out of place to do 5 minutes loud praise and worship at your desk in Africa early in the morning before work. In Europe it is out of place to worship or pray aloud at work, it could also be erring in some professional etiquette that you never heard of.
